The Hub – Dates for 2008

Another Camp has been and gone and we only have the memories, photos and videos to keep us going until next year.  But fear not, because before you know it the time will have come for the start of this years The Hub events.  Please put the dates in your diary with a big fat crayon and be sure not to miss any!

The full programme of dates is below…

The Hub:: 13th July

Play at CampJust 17 days to go to Camp 2008!

Below are the details of the next Hub event which takes place this Sunday.

Date: Sunday, 13th July
Time: 7:00pm until 9:30pm
Where: Water Eaton Church Centre, Bletchley [MK2 3RR]

The weather forecast is looking Ok for Sunday afternoon, and as I’ve heard nothing to disagree with the idea of games at the park. that’s what we’ll be doing. Meet at the Church Centre at 7:00pm prompt and we’ll make the short walk to Leon Rec and enjoy a few games to get us in the mood for Camp. If you arrive late, meet us straight at the Rec [click for map of Rec in relation to Church Centre].  Please make sure you’re wearing suitable footwear for running around, and bring a jumper/jacket in case it gets chilly.  We’ll provide the usual refreshments/nibbles.

The Hub – Update!

July 4th, 2008

Thanks to Simon, Bev and Lucy the Hub will now go ahead on Sunday 13th July!  But we’d still like to know what you’d like to do to celebrate the last Hub before Camp.  There are two suggestions so far:

  • BBQ and games in the garden
  • Evening at the park for wide games/ball games

Whether you support one of those ideas or have a better suggestion have your say in the comments below…

The Hub & Camp Theme

Just 24 days to go until Camp 2008! {just in case you’re not counting down}

[Note: the website is likely to get busy between now and Camp - check back often!]

At the last Hub in May we hadn’t quite finalised the details of the next Hub – and we still haven’t really (not due to lack of effort though, honest).  It was originally planned to take place this weekend, Sunday 6th July, but it is hoped that it will now take place on Sunday 13th July.  Unfortunately we are short of Staff – and if we don’t get enough volunteers we’ll have to cancel it.  So we need your help:

  • if you are a Staff or Asst. Staff member at Camp this year and can help out at The Hub please let us know
  • if you know a Staff or Asst. Staff member please encourage them to help and let us know

Also, if you have any ideas of what you’d like to do differently at this Hub to celebrate the fact that it’s the last one before Camp, please add your thoughts below.

Finally, for today at least, we can now reveal that the theme for Camp 2008 is Shaun the Sheep, and the banquet will be following a farmyard themes, so get your thinking caps on.

I hope you’re enjoying and making the most of the warm weather – and getting in the mood for Camp in Exmouth. There are now just 79 days to go!
