Hands Up If You Love Table Two…

August 22nd, 2011

As a follow-up to the previous post, here’s the second animated photo taken on the last day of Camp. Just like the previous photo, this one reveals some interesting behaviour. Particular highlights to watch out for:

  • Sam ‘fingers‘ Kelk checking out Ashan ‘innocent-victim‘ Barnes
  • Jonny ‘metal‘ Evans letting rip with some head-banging
  • Sue ‘chatty‘ Gibbs still trying to engage the camera in conversation
  • Sian ‘three-arms‘ Wilkinson giving it all she’s got – and more!
  • Rebecca ‘funky’ Leeman doing some dad-dancing – nice
  • Miki ‘one‘ Nye, Elliot ‘two‘ Day & Vanessa ‘three‘ Tilley all dancing to their own head-turning beat
  • Paul ‘too-cool‘ Chickwende -it’s all about ‘me, me, me’ ;o)
  • Josh ‘strangely‘ Brown – you can see his heart beating through his hip
  • Chris ‘violent-disorder‘ Allen smacking Jade ‘I’m-a-boy‘ Espey & Sam ‘fingers‘ Kelk in the face
  • David ‘mind-my-teeth‘ Putman almost losing his teeth again!
  • Erik ‘still-itchy‘ Tsoi having a sneaky scratch on the other side

Here’s a small version to give you a taste – but be sure to click it and view the full size image. Let us know in the comments if you spot anything particularly amusing.

Official Camp Photo

August 16th, 2011

At the end of Camp we all get together for the final Retreat Parade, then say our goodbyes, and pose for the end of Camp Photo. This year the camera took a few shots about a second apart, which when viewed in quick succession make for an interesting animated picture.

It reveals some interesting behaviour. Look out for these in particular:

  • Chris ‘Bieber‘ Allen tapping his foot along to some imaginary music
  • Barbara ‘Guppy‘ Bedford doing her impression of a fish
  • Josie ‘Matt‘ Leaver coming on to the camera
  • Sue ‘chatty‘ Gibbs greeting the camera with ‘hi, hi, hi’
  • Nat ‘dreamy‘ Bates & Nick ‘wrong-shirt‘ Buttenshaw playing invisible ball tennis with their heads
  • Katie ‘oi‘ Nelson telling off Ricky ‘false-grin‘ Rew for smiling
  • Eric ‘itchy‘ Tsoi having a sneaky scratch
  • Matt ‘fiance‘ Dungate repeatedly shouting ‘love, love, love’
  • David ‘lightning‘ Wright doing a split second smile
  • Rebecca ‘meow‘ Leeman doing a cat impression
  • Josh ‘strangely‘ Brown practising to be a bouncer
  • David ‘mind-my-teeth‘ Putman staying well out of harms way at the back

Here’s a small version to give you a taste – but be sure to click it and view the full size image. Let us know in the comments if you spot anything particularly amusing. PS – if you’re feeling smug that you weren’t caught doing anything strange or unusual – just wait – there’s another one coming soon!

Coolest Tents

July 14th, 2011

As you already know, at MK Summer Camp the Campers (aged 12-15) sleep in very traditional canvas tents. In the past Staff have tended to have big, heavy, box-like frame tents (more recently moving to dome tents), but a few years ago a group of female Assistant Staff broke the mould and brought along beautifully flower-patterned Cath Kidston mini dome tents. They added an element of colour and pizazz to the Camp site.

But I’m going to be brave and suggest that they’ve had their day, and that they’re now a little bit last decade. So what has come along to replace them? Well, how about these delightful possibilities:

Cath Kidston now offers a slightly girly, but very cool Cowboy Tepee for just £75.

But our favourite is definitely this amazing full-size replica of the iconic 1965 VW Camper Van, available in four colours, for £299. It is such a great replica that the product information clearly states: please note, this is not an actual Camper Van.

There will be a prize for the person who brings one of these to Camp this year – fact!!

Finally, if you’re not on Facebook you may not have seen the following two galleries of photos from Camp 2009:

If you have posted your photos on Facebook, please post the “public link” in the comments below so others can enjoy them too.

Camp 2008 Photos

August 18th, 2008

I’ve been busy uploading and tagging almost 300 photos from this year’s Camp.  There are now almost 1000 online and available for you to view. They represent a wide range of situations and activities from the last six years at Camp.

Marquee and Cookhouse Father & Son Tennequoits Action
Tent Inspection Marquee and Cookhouse Fond Farewells C.A.M.P

Each of the pictures should be tagged to identify the people in the shot, the place it was taken, and the activity taking place at the time. So if you want to see all the photos of Plum Duff Parade you can view the “Plum Duff Parade” tag, the same applies to “Sports Day“. Or if you want to see all the photos of Jonny you can view the “Jonny” tag – and if you want to view all the photos from Camp 2008, you now know what to do. If you have Camp photos that you’d like to add, sign up for a free account at Flickr and apply to join the MK Camp group.

I hope that we’ll be able to add some updates soon with links to pictures on Facebook too.
