Important Last Minute News

As we’re now less than a month away from Camp there is some important information which needs to be passed on. Please read on, and pass on the information to your parents where appropriate.

Douglas Adams, the author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, once famously said:

I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.

Sadly this is also true of some people who come to Camp. The deadline for paying your Camp fee was 24th June – but we are still awaiting payment from some. Please get your money in now!

Whilst we’re on the subject of deadlines, the date by which your pocket money needs to be paid into your Camp Bank account is Friday 13th July. If you pay your money in later than this date you may find that it isn’t in your account when you get to Camp. Get the money in early to avoid any problems.

In the next week we will be distributing a letter to your parents which contains all the important information they need about Camp including how you’ll be getting there (by coach), what time to drop you off and where, what time to expect you home, and the address and emergency contact details for whilst we’re away. The letter will be distributed by your Company and we’ll put it online shortly after (in case you lose it).

You will also be receiving the Consent Forms which must be returned to your Company Office/Staff Member by Friday 13th July. It is vital that you return the form by the deadline to ensure that the First Aid Team can review and organise them before we go. If you fail to return your Consent Form on time you will not be able to join us at Camp. Once you’ve returned your Consent Form, if you come into contact with any infectious disease you must let us know.

Please note that the dates on the Consent Form include the Advance Party and Rearguard dates (setting up and taking down the Camp) – don’t worry, you’re still only going for 10 days.

The Camp Booklet will be produced in the next two weeks, and your Camp ID card will be given to you when you arrive in St. Ives.

We’ve tried to include all the information you need, but if you still have questions feel free to get in touch.
