Food, Glorious Food

One of the questions we get asked most by those who have never been to Camp is “what is the food like?” and we’re always happy to reply, “Excellent!”. Despite the slightly awkward conditions for the cooks (cooking for 60+ in a tent) they do an amazing job – and after a few days at Camp you’ll see why we praise them so much.

The quality of the food is excellent, and I’m pleased to say that it’s also matched by the variety offered. Here are a few of my personal favourites from the Camp Menu of recent years:

Main

  • Sausage, Mash & Peas (with Onion Gravy)
  • Spicy Sausage Pasta (it’s all about the sausage!)
  • Turkey Pie
  • Pork & Apple Casserole
  • Sunday Roast

Dessert

  • Lemon Meringue Pie
  • Chocolate Pudding & Chocolate Custard
  • Plum Duff & Custard
  • DIY Banana Splits
  • anything with squirty cream is always a winner!

With a hot breakfast every day (continental on Sunday) and cocoa and biscuits every evening there is no danger of you going hungry. In addition, at the end of Camp we have a big banquet which is simply amazing!

If you’d like to see a particular dish served at Camp add it to the comments below.
